The data
Everything on this site as data: 723 museums and landmarks, 243 in New York and 480 elsewhere, each one visited and rated (how I rate). Free to use with a link back to museumlist.org.
Downloads
- museums.json
- Every entry as JSON: name, rating (−1 to 3) and its label, location, city, state or region, country, price in US dollars at the time of the visit, coordinates, notes, year visited, whether it has since closed, Wikidata ID and page URL.
- llms-full.txt
- The same data as markdown, grouped by city and borough, for AI tools and anything else that reads plain text. A shorter overview of the site is at llms.txt.
Good to know
- Every rating is mine, so they can be compared with each other.
- I believe the New York list covers every museum that was open in 2024.
- The 0 and −1 ratings are real visits, not gaps.
- Prices are in US dollars, at the time of the visit.
